Obama vs. Israel
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 31, 2010

If you have been around Calvary for any length of time you know that I am not shy about supporting Israel. The Bible has a profound thing to say about this position:

“Now the LORD had said to Abram: ‘Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’” - Genesis 12:1-3.

Barak Obama has chosen a very deliberate path that will eventually lead the United States into predictable chaos. No nation, in the history of the world, has prospered once they have dealt rudely with Israel. Where is Egypt today? Where are the Babylonian or Assyrian Empires? Where are Medo-Persian and the Romans Empires today? I have stated since 2004 that I believe Barak Obama is at least sympathetic to Islam and to the Islamic doctrine of Israeli annihilation. Is this what we are beginning to see, a pro-Islamic, anti-Semitic President of the United States who, if he is a Muslim, cannot swear any allegiances but to Allah and the Koran?

This would explain how he has, to date, conducted the most secretive, closed-door administration in over 230 years. Remember, we must not judge someone solely upon what they say, but rather by what they do. The following article may cause you to at least think about where our nation is heading and just how bad things will get for the United States in the not too distant future.

Appeasing the Enemy, Beating Up a Friend

By Brigitte Gabriel

March 29, 2010

According to news reports over the past ten days, President Obama is said to be quite upset with Israel because of Israel’s latest announcement of new housing settlements.

Apparently, Obama believes Hamas is serious about negotiating a peace agreement with Israel, and that the main thing standing in the way is Israel’s refusal to heed Hamas’ demand that it halt all new settlements.

Even if Israel did so, would Hamas then recognize Israel’s right to exist—which it has refused to do?  President Obama would do better to demand that Hamas—a terrorist organization—formally recognize Israel’s right to exist, than beat up on our ally Israel for building housing.

The story below (highlights added) reveals how willing Obama is to humiliate an ally like Israel while appeasing our enemies.  Just one more example of the kind of poor judgment that continues to erode American confidence that we will win the war on Islamic terrorism, as revealed in a recent Rasmussen poll <

Haunted by the Passed
TUESDAY, MARCH 23, 2010

The recent Healthcare Bill fiasco turned out to be a rape of the U.S. Constitution and will no doubt be challenged in Federal Court. Jesus said “…let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’” but Bart Stupak`s flip-flop will cost the Democratic Party more than votes this November. Check out what my friend and fellow board member at the Family Research Council, President Tony Perkins has to say on the issue...

"He was the one none of us expected to be talking about today. For five months, Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) stood guard on the wall between Americans and his party`s army--a stubborn sentinel for life in a chamber of abortion-hungry Democrats. Without him there would have been no Stupak coalition, no Stupak language to ban taxpayer-funded abortion. In the end, conservatives couldn`t live without him. Now, neither can the unborn. In the last moments, when members tried to incorporate Stupak`s language into the bill, 21 pro-life Democrats voted for it. And for the first time in this Congress, Bart Stupak wasn`t one of them. Instead, the bill--completely devoid of pro-life protections--passed with his help, 219-212*.
With the clock ticking down, the Democrat from Michigan stunned everyone by trading away five agonizing months for a meaningless piece of White House paper. With one-sixth of the economy in his grasp, the President agreed to Stupak`s deal: an executive order that would somehow negate the abortion funding in the Senate bill. It was meant to reassure wobbly Democrats that the administration would protect taxpayers from any involvement in the abortion industry. Unfortunately, it does nothing of the sort. Just ask Planned Parenthood. In an email to supporters (subject: "VICTORY!"), the organization brags, "We were able to keep the Stupak abortion ban out of the final legislation and President Obama did not include the Stupak language in his executive order." For once, FRC agrees with pro-abortionists like Rep. Diana DeGette (D-Colo.) who told the pressthat the executive order "doesn`t change anything."

That`s exactly what FRC Action was frantically trying to convey to pro-life Democrats when the idea surfaced on Saturday. In a flurry of calls, visits, and emails to the Hill, we warned members that this order would be worthless in the long run because it cannot trump statutory law. Even the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) appealed to Rep. Stupak to reject the compromise. Its legal experts were unanimously opposed. " The statutory mandate construed by the courts would override any executive order... only a change in the law enacted by Congress can... address this very serious problem." The Wall Street Journal seemed surprised with the deal. "...[O]f course," the editors write, "such an order can be revoked whenever it is politically convenient to do so." As an attorney, Bart Stupak would have known that this was an empty gesture on the President`s part. More importantly, he turned away from beliefs and put that trust in the most pro-abortion President in U.S. history. Americans have come to expect this kind of betrayal from this White House--but they never expected it from the man fighting for life in his party.

The march toward a complete government takeover of health care is almost complete. As of Friday, the business community was already bracing for the hit. Caterpillar, Inc. reported that when the ink dries on ObamaCare, its health care costs will rocket to $100 million. Others, like Medtronic, Inc., will pay for it in employees. The plan that was supposed to create jobs will force Medtronic to cut 1,000 of theirs just to soak up the heavy taxes, according to the Wall Street Journal. If House and Senate leaders believed the American people would forgive and forget by Election Day, they were mistaken. Right now, the bill`s new taxes and mandates are scheduled to start hitting homes in the heat of the campaign season. Meanwhile, nine state attorneys general will do their best to fend off the federal invasion at their borders. In Alabama, North Dakota, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Washington, a collective lawsuit will launch the moment ObamaCare becomes law. Before then, Senate Republicans hope to have killed the plan`s clean-up bill, which is headed their way as soon as Tuesday. With a stash of parliamentary procedures at their disposal, they plan to lob amendment after amendment at the chamber until Democrats cry "uncle." If the GOP succeeds, it would be especially irksome to House Democrats who agreed to vote for the plan on the condition that it would include their list of changes.

As devastating as yesterday`s result may be, don`t lose hope. If this debate proves anything, it`s that the abortion movement is losing supporters by the millions. America is radically shifting in its opinion of the unborn--so much so that the only way Democrats could pass this bill was by putting a pro-life veneer on it. Those who ignore the people on this issue do so at their own peril. During his victory lap, President Obama said smugly, "This is what change looks like." With all due respect, he hasn`t seen anything yet."

* Who Voted for What?

"Twenty Democrats were urged to change their vote from a "yes" to "no" on pro-life grounds but failed to do so. They are: Reps. Carney (Pa.), Costello (Ill.), Dahlkemper (Pa.), Donnelly (Ind.), Doyle (Pa.), Driehaus (Ohio), Ellsworth (Ind.), Hill (Ind.), Kanjorski (Pa.), Kaptur (Ohio), Kildee (Mich.), Langevin (R.I.), Mollohan (W. Va.), Oberstar (Minn.), Ortiz (Tex.), Perriello (Va.), Pomeroy (N.D.), Rahall (W. Va.), Stupak (Mich.), and Wilson (Ohio).
On the positive side, 19 Democrats voted against the Senate bill and for the pro-life motion to recommit, which would have added Stupak`s ban to the Senate bill. They are: Reps. Altmire* (Pa.), Barrow* (Ga.), Berry* (Ark.), Boren (Okla.), Bright (Ala.), Chandler* (Ky.), Childers (Miss.), L. Davis (Tenn.), Holden (Pa.), Lipinski (Ill.), Marshall (Ga.), Matheson (Utah)*, McIntyre (N.C.), Melancon (La.)*, Peterson (Minn.), Ross (Ark.)*, Shuler (N.C.), Skelton (Mo.), and Taylor (Miss.). (* Denotes members with a limited or mixed pro-life voting record.)"

One Caucus, Under God...

"Hours before the turmoil would unfold, the Congressional Prayer Caucus gathered in Statuary Hall on Sunday under the Capitol dome. Together with families in churches all across America, they lifted up our great nation and prayed for God`s guidance. One congressman told me it was the first time in 130 years that members had held a church service on the site. As we try to cope with these frightening new realities, let`s hope--no, let`s pray--that this is the beginning of true change in America."

What excites me? I’ll tell you
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 2010

What excites me? I’ll tell you. Paul wrote to the Corinthian believers that “The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up only one body. So it is with the body of Christ.” For us here at calvary, this is exactly what we are seeing on Wednesday nights. Unplanned and unprovoked, our Wednesday night, mid-week services have exploded not only in attendance but in power. Those who are coming are coming with a heart for fellowship and worship in the word, its truly awesome to see!

The amazing thing for me is that our Wednesday night fellowship is made up of a younger age group who either do not attend on Sunday mornings or attend their own home church on the weekends. It is truly what Paul said, “…The many parts make up only one body. So it is with the body of Christ.” The night is a totally different feel. Its exciting and its something that you need to come and experience!

It appears the Lord is excited about Wednesday nights also. He has blown our minds by causing the fine people at HisChannel.Com to put our Wednesday night services on live internet television to the world. It has been awesome to know that we are now being broadcasts into 192 nations around the globe, live !

Can you do me this favor, will you text, twitter or e-mail a friend of yours and have them join us live at HisChannel.Com Wednesday’s at 7:00pm pacific time?

We have already had viewers from Tanzania, Israel, New Zealand and across the United States on our first night. If you’re on of our viewers, please get a hold of me and let me know where you’re watching from and if there is anything we can do to help you press on with Jesus. - Jack

Abortion is $38.5 Trillion Drag on the Economy
TUESDAY, JANUARY 26, 2010

MT. FREEDOM, NJ, January 20, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com)  – In its latest estimate on the economic impact of abortion, the Movement for a Better America is reporting that the abortion toll is projected to climb to a new high of 52,333,000 as of January 22, 2010, the 37th anniversary of Roe V. Wade.

The group also estimated that the economic impact has risen to $38.5 trillion in lost U.S. Gross Domestic Product (GDP) since 1970.

“This year alone, the impact involved another $2.45 trillion, or roughly equal to half the GDP of Germany and France combined,” said the Movement in a press release.

MBA President Dennis Howard, who has been researching the economic impact of abortion since 1992, said, “The number of lives lost to surgical abortion has reached 17% of the total U.S. population of 307,000,000.  So it’s not surprising that this year’s increase is equal to 17% of U.S. GDP.”

The estimates are based on average GDP per year since 1970 after abortion became legal in our largest states and the cumulative number of abortions.

The estimates do not include babies lost to abortifacients and contraception because of the lack of public data. Said Howard: “However, the economic impact of these is similar to abortion. My guess is they would double the impact based on abortion alone.”

Howard has been warning since the mid-1990’s that the US faced a major financial crisis based on ongoing demographic trends.  In 1997, he wrote: “I see little hope that we can avoid an eventual crash on Wall Street that will make the 1930’s looking like cashing in your cards after a bad game of Monopoly.”

He even gave percentages as to when a crash would occur. He wrote then: “I’d give it a 50% chance of happening by the year 2000, an 80% chance by the year 2010, and a 100% chance of happening by 2020.”

Howard cited the collapse of the former Soviet Union as an example of the impact of demographics on economies. “The main reason for their collapse was internal – 300 abortions for every 100 live births for decades ... Right now, there are not enough younger women to reverse their population decline. They could lose another 40 million people by 2050.”

“Meanwhile,” he said, “the Muslim world is going in the other direction – with rates of natural increase 5 to 6 times higher than ours. They will own the second half of this Century unless we reverse course.”

The Dying Dollar
SATURDAY, JANUARY 2, 2010

In a radical report, the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) has said the system of currencies and capital rules which binds the world economy is not working properly, and was largely responsible for the financial and economic crises.

It added that the present system, under which the dollar acts as the world`s reserve currency , should be subject to a wholesale reconsideration.

Although a number of countries, including China and Russia, have suggested replacing the dollar as the world`s reserve currency, the UNCTAD report is the first time a major multinational institution has posited such a suggestion.

In essence, the report calls for a new Bretton Woods-style system of managed international exchange rates, meaning central banks would be forced to intervene and either support or push down their currencies depending on how the rest of the world economy is behaving.

The proposals would also imply that surplus nations such as China and Germany should stimulate their economies further in order to cut their own imbalances, rather than, as in the present system, deficit nations such as the UK and US having to take the main burden of readjustment.

"Replacing the dollar with an artificial currency would solve some of the problems related to the potential of countries running large deficits and would help stability," said Detlef Kotte, one of the report`s authors. "But you will also need a system of managed exchange rates. Countries should keep real exchange rates [adjusted for inflation] stable. Central banks would have to intervene and if not they would have to be told to do so by a multilateral institution such as the International Monetary Fund."

The proposals, included in UNCTAD`s annual Trade and Development Report , amount to the most radical suggestions for redesigning the global monetary system.

Although many economists have pointed out that the economic crisis owed more to the malfunctioning of the post-Bretton Woods system, until now no major institution, including the G20 , has come up with an alternative.

Anti-Israel
FRIDAY, JANUARY 1, 2010

Holding aloft evidence of Hitler`s Final Solution, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday railed against Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for his denial of the Holocaust and scolded the United Nations for allowing Ahmadinejad to speak during its opening session of the 64th U.N. General Assembly.

With detailed reminders in hand of the war that sent 6 million Jews to their deaths in concentration camps, including construction blueprints for Auschwitz, Netanyahu took his turn at the dais to recall the agreement within the world body to create the Jewish state and express astonishment at what he witnessed a day earlier in that organization`s great hall.

He commended those who boycotted Ahmadinejad`s speech, but condemned those who allowed it.

"To those who gave this Holocaust denier a hearing, I say on behalf of my people. ... Have you no shame? Have you no decency?" Netanyahu said.

Netanyahu also scolded the United Nations for giving the Iranian president "legitimacy" just six decades after the Holocaust. Ahmadinejad addressed the body Wednesday, and in the run-up to the session repeated his belief that the Holocaust is a myth.

"What a disgrace," Netanyahu said. "What a mockery of the charter of the United Nations."

Netanyahu challenged the international community to step up and prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons, but expressed broad disappointment with the United Nations.

He accused the United Nations of remaining silent on attacks on Israelis from Hamas, and blasted the U.N. Human Rights Council for its "twisted standards."

The Human Rights Council issued a recent report that condemned Israel for its offensive in the Gaza Strip last January. U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice last week called the report, conducted by South African Judge Richard Goldstone, "unbalanced, one sided and basically unacceptable," but the White House on Wednesday corrected a report that it would not allow the findings to reach the International Criminal Court.

"What a travesty," Netanyahu said. "Israel justly defended itself against terror."

He said the latest report presents a test to the international community: "Will you stand with Israel or will you stand with the terrorists?"

Netanyahu drew applause only when he talked about the need for a Palestinian state and when he finished his speech.

The day before, President Obama also drew heavy applause when he declared that "America does not accept the legitimacy of continued Israeli settlements." Obama called for Palestinians to end their "incitement of Israel" as well, but that line did not trigger a response from the audience.

Obama earlier met with Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in a bid to re-start peace talks. It`s unclear how Israel will respond to the U.S. president`s firm declaration on the settlements. Netanyahu, while suggesting Israel is open to a temporary freeze on West Bank settlements, told FOX News Tuesday that the settlers must be allowed to extend the "possibility of normal life."

He said the settlers need schools, health clinics and other buildings, and that he believes the issue should come at the end of negotiations -- not the beginning.

Kingdom of Heaven
FEBRUARY 5, 2010

A friend of mine told me that “In the Kingdom of Heaven, weak things become mighty and mighty things here on earth often prove themselves to be weakest. God see’s not as a man sees, and the things held in high esteem among men are the very things that God despises. The carnal courage so prized in the kingdom of Adam results in the direct and constant humiliating defeat among Christians today. God will not be under the necessity of using fleshly means to accomplish His spiritual purposes. The bold “strength of character” which helps men to forge themselves to the front of the line, to get the best job, to overawe their opponent, may very well stand squarely in the way of all efforts to progress in the life of the Spirit. God still gives courage to the faint, and He see’s the proud afar off. From Adam we inherit the instinct to confront our enemies head on, to try to win by direct assault, and it is only after experiencing many shocking failures that we...

Prayer Team
APRIL 1, 2010

And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he hearkened not unto them... Exodus 9:12 Dear Praying Friends, After the Boston Tea Party, King George closed Boston Harbor on March 7, 1774 in a deliberate effort to destroy the colony`s economy. William Prescott wrote, "If we submit to these regulations, all is gone... Our forefathers...spent their blood and treasure that they might enjoy their liberties, both civil and religious, and transmit them to their posterity... if we should give them up; can our children rise up and call us blessed?" Upon hearing of Boston`s crisis, Thomas Jefferson led the Virginia House of Burgesses (on May 24, 1774) to proclaim "a Day of Fasting, Humiliation and Prayer, devoutly to implore the Divine interposition, for averting the heavy calamity which threatens destruction to our civil rights." Lord Dunmore, Virginia`s Royal Governor, was so upset by the Proclamation that he dissolved the House of Burgesses. The members regrouped in nearby Raleigh...
